- Student fees are a flat charge each semester, except for the Campus Security Fee, which is charged per credit hour.
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill offers a broad range of graduate and professional academic programs. Tuition and fees vary by program. Tuition is assessed on a per credit hour basis. For most graduate programs, tuition is capped at full time enrollment, which is nine hours for graduate students. Estimated rates by program can be found using the tuition estimator. Student Fees are assessed on a flat basis for campus based programs and on a per credit hour basis for programs classified as distance education. Student fees also vary by academic program.

**All students are subject to mandatory student fees. Additional fees may be assessed depending on your academic program and for certain courses. Mandatory Student Health Insurance of $1,392.40 is added to each semester. To waive this charge, you must have other health insurance and request a waiver before September 11 for fall semester and January 31 for spring semester. |
